About this Group

Tallahassee, FL Instructors

DeWayne Carver

I am a bicycle commuter and occasional cyclotourist. As Florida's Statewide Bicycle/Pedestrian Coordinator, I design and evaluate bicycle facilities and teach others to do so as well. I've been teaching bicyclist training courses for over ten years, including LAB classes, Cycling Savvy, and a number of un-named "how to" courses for various small groups. In decent weather, I take my kids to school on a tandem bicycle, which is a lot of fun and very rewarding. I look forward to teaching Cycling Savvy courses whenever I get a chance to do one!

Bill Edmonds

Bicycle commuter for more than 10 years, currently riding a 10-mile route across Tallahassee.

Karen Loewen

I have been riding bikes for recreation my entire life. I started driving my bike for transportation about 5 years ago. I no longer drive a car. I am a strong believer that cycling is safe and fun. I enjoy every minute I'm in the saddle and like to empower others to do the same.

“It's given me back the big roads on my trips around town. I still prefer the quiet streets, but when needed, I don't fear the big streets anymore.”
